Before you write

How soon will someone reply?: A principal replies within one business day, and sooner when you mark the matter urgent. The briefing is read and the desk is assigned before anyone is retained.
Does submitting the form retain anyone?: No. A mandate is written later, if at all. A consultation is a first contact. It does not create a solicitor-client or investigator-client relationship and it does not start a limitation strategy.
When do fees start?: Nothing is billed for sending a briefing. Fees start only if you accept a written mandate. How those fees are structured depends on the file and is set out before work begins.
What if a limitation period or court date is close?: Put the date in the summary and mark the matter urgent. A consultation does not stop a clock. A principal will read urgent briefings first.
